I ❤️ food

The PHOTO OP series — to which SEMIOVOX has invited our semiotician colleagues from around the world to contribute — analyzes photos that we’ve snapped while “off the job.”

The Post Office (in Leatherhead, England) that thinks it’s a restaurant. The lady in the shop next door described this post office as ‘weird’… but nothing could have prepared me for for the adventures that were to come.

Detail from floor mosaic at some swanky midtown hotel in Manhattan. The lady is clearly having a laugh. Is she fundamentally misjudging the situation — that is to say, laughing nervously or callously?

Nonsense and total equivalence between need and desire. Blackpool Promenade knows all the gateways of desire and dejection.
