One must rely not only inductive and deductive reasoning, when constructing a semiotic schema… but on abductive reasoning, as well. Which is to say: intuition and imagination, “every sense… every emotion I possess…,” must be permitted to play a guiding role.
Only in such a way will a semiosphere — a universe of meaning, in microcosm; a world within a world — make itself perceptible.
