A 1954 ad for Diva, tailored by Evan-Picone. (Evan-Picone, a partnership between designer Charles Evans and tailor Joseph Picone, became a major manufacturer of women’s sportswear. Also, Mary Tyler Moore’s wardrobe in her 1960sā1970s TV show was Evan-Picone.) The ad is for their Italian taper pants, described here as “patrician, exciting, lush.”
