First installment in a photo series exploring the meanings of Covid-19 inspired street art in San Francisco.

(Generally, earlier in the pandemic March–Summer 2020)

Impeding doom or freak out; fear, anger and defiance being the operative emotions; Covid-19 is the ultimate nightmare. Human life will morph into something strange, otherworldly, frightening. Monsters and nightmare visions, surreal juxtapositions. In some cases, the potential dawning of a new era — new, unexpected life springing from death and destruction.
